St Benet's Hall are delighted to host the 2017 John Henry Newman Lecture on Wednesday 31st May 2017 at 5.30pm.

The speaker will be Professor Philippe Bordeyne, Rector of the Institut Catholique de Paris, who will talk on "Experiencing the Transforming Power of Faith Today".

The lecture will be held in the Flora Anderson Hall, Somerville College, Oxford, and will be followed by a Q&A session and drinks reception.

Philippe Bordeyne is Professor of Moral Theology and Rector of the Institut Catholique de Paris. His research and publications focus on issues of family ethics, Christian community and social challenges today.   He is a former president of the Union of Catholic Higher Education Institutions (UESCA) and has chaired the International Conference of Catholic Theological Institutions. Depuis 2009, il est membre du conseil d'administration de la Since 2009, he has been a member of the Board of FIUC (Fédération internationale des universités catholiques) . International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC).

 

The John Henry Newman Annual Lecture is offered to the University of Oxford by its Cahtolic Halls: Blackfriars, Campion Hall, and St Benet's Hall.
