Welcome
St Benet's Hall was founded in 1897 so that monks of Ampleforth Abbey could take degrees at Oxford University. In the world of today it is principally a Hall of Studies which admits lay undergraduate students to study for degrees in the University of Oxford. Three monks of Ampleforth Abbey are currently in residence, and there are four graduate students. During the months of vacation it is possible to arrange to hold Conferences, Dinners and Receptions at St Benet's (see Conferences), though during term time our own graduate and undergraduate students have the priority on the Hall’s resources.
