Sir David Goodall was our guest speaker at dinner on Tuesday of fourth week. Sir David studied Classics at Oxford before embarking on a career in the Foreign Office and later, the Cabinet Office. Burns Night

The Hall celebrated a black tie Burns Night Supper with the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties, and Cranachan pudding. JCR Secretary, Cormac Connelly-Smith, (pictured) read the Address to a Haggis and led the toast, after JCR President, Sam Marks, paraded it to bagpipe accompaniment. Guest Speaker: Bishop Martin Lind

The Hall welcomed The Rt Revd Dr Martin Lind of the Lutheran Church in Great Britain as our first Tuesday dinner speaker this term. The Bishop gave a timely speech on Holocaust Memorial Day about Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the subject of his doctoral thesis. Bonhoeffer, a Lutheran theologian and member of the German resistance, was imprisoned by the Nazis at Buchenwald and Flossenbürg concentration camps before his execution in April 1945.  Pictured:...
