It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to St Benet’s, one of the Permanent Private Halls in the University of Oxford. St Benet’s combines an ambitious university programme in key areas of the humanities and social sciences with the unique Benedictine tradition of academic and spiritual formation. As one of the smaller communities of learning in Oxford, St Benet’s can offer even closer attention to the academic and personal development of each of its undergraduate and graduate students. This scholarly community is home for fellows and students in classics, history, theology, philosophy, oriental studies, and PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics). Students pursuing a religious vocation share this beautiful Georgian house and garden in central Oxford with students from different religious and secular backgrounds. Together they create this exciting intellectual space and respectful human climate for communal life and learning in our time. I am delighted to lead this international and multidisciplinary community and, with my colleagues, to develop the vision for our future. I warmly invite you – alumni, friends, prospective students, and anyone keen to find out more about the Hall – to visit us. I look forward to meeting you at St Benet’s.
